Delivering Community Rehabilitation Best Practice
For Health Professionals
For the public
“These rehabilitation standards highlight the significant benefits that can arise from taking a more person-centred approach. That includes a need to acknowledge both the person who is the recipient of rehabilitation and the people working together to deliver rehabilitation services. Therefore, this highlights why the formation of strong trusted partnerships is fundamental to successful outcomes arising from the provision of rehabilitation.
A need to acknowledge both the person who is the recipient of rehabilitation and the people working together to deliver rehabilitation services.
To help build such partnerships, we believe that requires people to remain aware, and for some people, become aware of the various ‘stressors’ placed on healthcare professionals in their work, and acknowledging the emotions that EVERYONE experiences, whether receiving or providing rehabilitation services.
Now that the global impact of COVID 19 is slipping, naturally, from the minds of people (particularly the impact on those providing the vital healthcare) we believe by promoting and distributing these standards, the Government and public in general, will appreciate the need to value all people, some of whom have had personal experience of rehabilitation, to deliver more person-centred rehabilitation services.”
The following statement is borne out of a combination of personal living experiences (at least 1000) plus working with and listening to health professionals who have received life-altering medical news. That work has come principally out of the work of the Person-Centred Neurosciences Society.
